Lockouts are what people remember. The rest of the trade is where most of the useful work happens.
The ten
- Rekeying. Old keys stop working; the lock stays.
- Keyed-alike locks. One key for every outside door.
- Deadbolt installs. Especially on side and garage doors that only have a knob.
- Strike reinforcement. Long screws into the framing so a kick doesn't split the jamb.
- Smart and keypad locks. Codes instead of spare keys.
- Master key systems. Managers open everything; staff open what they need.
- Car keys and fobs. Cut and programmed where the car is parked.
- Ignition repair. For keys that stick or won't turn.
- Key extraction. Snapped keys out of doors and ignitions.
- Safe and cabinet opening. Plus combination changes.
Matching the job to the problem
Don't trust who has keys: rekey. Lock is worn or flimsy: replace. Key sticks: fresh key first, then repair. Several people need different access: master keys.
