Choosing a lock for an outside door
Door locks are commonly graded 1 to 3 under the ANSI/BHMA standard, with Grade 1 the most durable. For front doors and garage entry doors, a Grade 1 or 2 deadbolt is a sensible baseline.
Ask the locksmith to check your strike plate screws too: long screws into the door frame make a big difference.
